MediaLens account

From anonymous reader to community member

You can read results without an account. Later, signing in will let you run analyses with credits and no personal API key, track contributions, and help improve the methodology.

Why an account

Useful features without unnecessary data collection

Contribution history

Find analyses you initiated and see their current status.

Feedback

Flag an extraction, attribution, or finding with a clear explanation.

Community collaboration

Help create quality reference data and validate the methodology.

Credit-funded analyses

Once signed in, use your credits without entering an API key for every article.

How it will work

Three ways to analyze, public results for everyone

  1. 01

    Browse anonymously

Public analyses and the methodology will remain available without registration.

  2. 02

    Choose how to analyze

Use your own API key once, or use credits once accounts launch; a limited community option is also planned.

  3. 03

Credits will be the account default

For a signed-in user with enough credits, an analysis will start immediately. A personal key remains an optional one-time route.

  4. 04

    Share a public result

An accepted analysis will have a public link and show its technical provenance and review status.

Contributing

How you can help the community

The community layer is designed to improve quality and transparency, not to rank media outlets or vote on truth. Free community analyses will be limited and will not imply manual human verification.

Suggest an article

Contribute a new, safely retrieved article; duplicates will resolve to the existing result.

Report a specific issue

Feedback will point to an excerpt, attribution, or technical failure so it can be reviewed.

Take part in validation

Once annotation opens, samples can be independently evaluated using the public guidelines.

Privacy is part of the design

Accounts will not be used to profile readers. We will store only what is needed for sign-in, service protection, and accountability of community contributions.
